40 years of Diamond Way buddhism in the West

09.10.2012
40 rokov On October 23rd 1972 Lama Ole and Hannah had an audience with the Danish Queen, Margrethe II, only a few days after returning from 4 years in the Himalayas. They brought a letter from the 16th Karmapa, introducing themselves as his students and representatives in Denmark.

It is an honor to celebrate the 40 years anniversary of Diamond Way Buddhism in the West. Today we consider this date the beginning of Diamond Way Buddhism in West. During the years to come Diamond Way would spread to more than 50 countries, thereby giving thousands of people the opportunity to get to know the nature of their mind.

During the 5 day course in Copenhagen, October 17th through 21st 2012, Lama Ole will transmit the history of Diamond Way Buddhism in the West, with special focus on the early days in Copenhagen and Denmark. Lama Ole and old friends from the early days will share their stories with us. Furthermore, travelling teachers will share the events written about in Lama Ole’s book “Riding the Tiger”, which they have experienced themselves. Furthermore, Shamar Rinpoche will join the program for the weekend.
